About Laura Araneda:

Laura Araneda, president of Vic Progressive Diamond Drilling (VPDD) comes from a long line of miners. Araneda received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and has since worked in the mining field. Her grandfathers were miners. Her father was an underground driller in the mines of Canada’s New Brunswick province and beyond before he decided to found his own diamond drilling company.

Araneda believes that attention to quality, safety and environment have helped VPDD grow and stand out in a highly competitive market by staying focused on doing things right.  By drilling safely and with care for the environment, employees and host communities, VPDD will continue to gain customers and grow into new markets.  Community involvement is very important to Araneda who enjoys volunteering with local schools to help improve the education of the next generation.

VPDD began with a focus on underground drilling and still does an extensive amount of that work, but it has also expanded into surface drilling, where much of the energy is now being directed as mining firms and exploration interests look to find the next generation of producing mines to feed hungry markets. VPDD has also expanded into providing mine services, extending labor to mines as needed on a contract basis, and offers expertise in high-pressure and high-volume grouting to help address water infiltration and related situations.

Based in Sussex, New Brunswick, Vic Progressive Diamond Drilling has operations across Canada and works with international clients in the US and Europe. The firm carries on a tradition of innovation and service to the mining industry as a whole.
